Partners & Supporters

Our partners play a vital role in advancing Foster Success’s mission.

By helping guide where their support can make the greatest impact, they strengthen our localized approach in communities while also fueling national efforts that expand opportunities for young people with lived experience in foster care.

Partners like Chick-fil-A of Central Indiana, Provider Cafe, and Bone Dry Roofing are committed to investing in young people and finding meaningful ways to turn their support into more than just a financial contribution. They create moments of connection, opportunity, and celebration.

In October, Chick-fil-A of Central Indiana selected Foster Success for their “Desserts that make a Difference” campaign.

Throughout the month, a portion of the proceeds from every Chocolate Chunk Cookie and Chocolate Fudge Brownie sold at 22 participating restaurants were donated. Together, they raised $20,000 to support our programs.

But it didn’t stop there. They presented the check during a Works Wonders® program graduation. At the graduation, young people were provided a Chick-fil-A dinner, had the chance to speak with franchise owners about careers and interviewing tips, and enjoyed a photo op with the Chick-fil-A cow.

“This is a cause that’s close to our hearts. We’re proud of the work [Foster Success] is doing and honored to be a part of it."

Evan Williamson, Owner/Operator Chick-fil-A West Carmel.

Provider Cafe supported Foster Success using a similar approach

In May, as part of Foster Care Awareness month, Provider Cafe in Indianapolis, dedicated a portion of proceeds from beverages sold each Friday to supporting our work.

The proceeds went towards the Basic Needs program, which works to support young people struggling with any basic needs including housing, utilities, transportation, childcare, and health care connections.

Partnerships also can create opportunities for young people to explore what’s possible for their futures.

In February, Bone Dry Roofing hosted a Career Day for our young people interested in exploring their career options.

For many young people, it was their first time seeing what a career in construction could look like. They weren’t just listening to presentations or lectures. Young people participated in experiential learning stations guided by Bone Dry employees. Side-by-side, they learned how to nail shingles to a roof, install exterior siding, practice masonry, and even shadowed their call center.

In the quieter moments, young people talked with Bone Dry team members and asked questions: What does a typical day look like? How long does it take to become an apprentice? What other opportunities exist? Their inquisitiveness and eager engagement left a lasting impression on the Bone Dry team.

But Bone Dry’s support went beyond the planned activities for the day. Assistant Director of Program Delivery Hannah Swogger mentioned some young people signed up didn’t have winter coats, and may be deterred from waiting outside in the morning.

Minutes later she got an email from Bone Dry Roofing’s Talent Acquisition & Retention Manager, Jeff Johnson. The Bone Dry team worked together to collect coats to give to all the young people. Another staff member provided hand knitted hats as well.

“It was a need and an easy thing to do. We didn’t do it because it was easy. We like to give back to the community—that’s why it was easy,” said Jeff.

Partnerships with organizations like Chick-fil-A of Central Indiana, Provider Cafe, and Bone Dry Roofing create opportunities where there were once barriers for young people with lived experience in foster care. They show what’s possible when community partners listen to what young people need, recognize their potential, and step forward to help create pathways to their goals.

This year, we also reached an incredible milestone. We moved!

This space would not be possible without our partnerships with the Herbert Simon Family Foundation, United Way of Central Indiana, Halstead Architects, and donors like you.

Our vision was to create a hub where our staff can guide young people and build meaningful connections. And most importantly, a place where young people can come and know they are safe and welcome. Our community of partners helped bring that vision to life.

The office was designed with and for young people. We have a training room complete with technology to host in-person, virtual, and hybrid events — allowing young people to connect from across the country. Our hygiene pantry is now a dedicated room, arranged for staff and volunteers to package hygiene kits swiftly and young people to easily access the essentials they need with dignity. We also have a dedicated youth lounge where young people are able to work, connect, and relax.

Our hygiene pantry and youth lounge were fully realized thanks to the collaboration of New Hope Presbyterian Church, Sheila Hawes, Sophie and Cynthia Holladay, The Container Store, and The Simple Life. Together, they transformed these rooms into purposeful, joyful spaces for young people.
